Download Java software. You will see it as Step 1 - Java software check. It is so widely used, you may already have it. |

Please join the configuration room. You will see it as Step 2 - Complete your setup. Join the Configuration Room to test your connection and configure your audio. |

You may need to disable your pop-up blocker |

Connection to Host and Authentication will automatically begin |

In the upper left corner of your screen you will see Test ### (Me) |

Go to Tools on menu bar, upper left of viewable screen. |

On dropdown, select Audio |

Select Audio Set Up Wizard (just to the right of Audio) |

Select Audio Output Device: Usually there’s only one to choose from. If there are two or more, select “USB” or brand name of headset, ie. Plantronics, Altec Lansing, etc. |

Speaker Setup: This refers to volume of sound coming thru headset. Just listen to the woman’s voice, set it to a comfortable volume, click Yes button. |

Select Audio Input Device: This refers to volume of your voice thru microphone. It will likely default to microphone. If it doesn’t default to microphone, please select it and click OK. |

Microphone Setup: Click Record button, say “test, test, test” and click Stop. |

Microphone Setup Confirmation: You will hear the recording of yourself and agree with quality of sound by clicking Yes. |

Setup Complete: Click OK button.

Please understand that a USB headset/microphone plugs into your computer USB port, not into your telephone or headphone jack on the PC. The course takes place in the online environment, not over a telephone call. Therefore, your regular headset will not work in the online environment. Not having a USB headset with microphone will create voice delay and significant echo for other participants to painfully endure.
To purchase, for convenience you might try www.amazon.com, enter USB headset microphone into the search field and hit Enter. Pricing ranges from $10 to $100. There is no reason to spend more than $30. You are also likely to find a USB headset at Radio Shack, BestBuy, Circuit City, Fry’s, Target, etc.
